Dower Elementary is a community of learners where students, families, and staff, grow and learn to achieve success.

About the Principal

I am incredibly lucky to be the principal of Dower Elementary. I look forward to teaming with families! I have two daughters within the Clover Park School District and believe it is the BEST district in the WORLD! Please reach out at any time to let me know how we are supporting your child(ren).

Hello Dower Families!

June is around the corner! A few things to note: We will have several special events happening in the month of June. Field day and outside activities with the warmer weather.

Please review our sunscreen policy: On May 4, 2017 a section was added to the medication at school law (RCW 28A.210.260), which allows students to have sunscreen at school. In summary, the changes allow students to have sunscreen in K-12 schools without needing a medication authorization. Below are the guidelines to be followed in our district:

  1. Students will apply the sunscreen to themselves only. Staff will not assist with this.

  2. Students will not be allowed to share sunscreen due to potential allergies of other students.

  3. Sunscreen containers must be labeled in permanent marker with each student’s name.

  4. Only rub-on, over the counter sunscreen will be allowed. Spray-on sunscreen is not allowed and often gets in the eyes, mouths or noses of other students and can be risky for students with asthma/respiratory conditions.
Please remember our last day of school is now June 12th. It will be a half day. Our kinder and fifth grade promotion ceremonies will be on the 11th and our final Superstar assembly is June 12th.

Thank you so much for your continued support of Dower!

Attendance continues to be a focus for us in Clover Park. It is important to have your child(ren) here on time and for the full day. Please communicate with us if your child does need to be absent. Please challenge your child to be the healthiest in school....attendance is important!

We expect great things from our Dower Dragons. We believe firmly in the statement:

Research shows that a child should not miss more than one/two day a month (on average). Please let us know what we can do to support you and your child to get them here every day and on time.

We are a Kids at Hope School! We believe in looking at the Hope factors in a child and how to help them be successful. No exceptions, no excuses.

Please note, students should not be dropped off before 8:00 a.m. Supervision of students begins at 8:00 a.m. Students should not be dropped off prior to 8:00 am. We care deeply for the safety of your student.

  • Breakfast will be served each day at 8:00AM. School begins at 8:30AM.
  • Students will need to be in their classrooms ready to learn by 8:30AM.
  • Lunch is free for all students
  • Students will be dismissed each day at 3:00PM.
At the end of the day, please ensure you are watchful of our busses at the parent pickup area. We have supervision out there to help support this transition and to keep students safe. Please make sure that your student is here each day ready to learn. We are also reminding visitors to sign in at the office when you are on campus. We truly appreciate this measure to keep our students safe.

Thank you again for sharing your children with us!!! We are so excited to have an incredible school year!
