Dower Elementary is a community of learners where students, families, and staff, grow and learn to achieve success.

About the Principal

I am incredibly lucky to be the principal of Dower Elementary. I look forward to teaming with families! I have two daughters within the Clover Park School District and believe it is the BEST district in the WORLD! Please reach out at any time to let me know how we are supporting your child(ren).

Hello Dower Families!

It’s February!  We will have a focus on Science this month, with our science fair coming soon!  This month we also continue our work on equity.  We want to make sure our students and families feel heard.  We also want to make sure everyone is getting what they need.   We continue to remind students of our Core Expectations: Be Safe, Respectful, Responsible, and Manage Yourself.   One powerful practice you can have at home is to make sure your student is reading a book (at their level) for at least 20 mins a day.  Feel free to have your child use our Partnership library or school library to get the just right book!  Let us know if you need help with this.

Please note that the weather has changed.  If your child needs winter wear (a coat, gloves, hat, etc), please communicate with their teacher or our office.  We are happy to help!  We are very proud of Dower being ranked #32 out of all the Elementary Schools in our state.  That is from the hard work of the staff, students, and YOU!!!

Attendance continues to be a focus for us in Clover Park. It is important to have your child(ren) here on time and for the full day. Please communicate with us if your child does need to be absent. Please challenge your child to be the healthiest in school....attendance is important!

We expect great things from our Dower Dragons. We believe firmly in the statement:

Research shows that a child should not miss more than one/two day a month (on average). Please let us know what we can do to support you and your child to get them here every day and on time.

We are a Kids at Hope School! We believe in looking at the Hope factors in a child and how to help them be successful. No exceptions, no excuses.

Please note, students should not be dropped off before 8:00 a.m. Supervision of students begins at 8:00 a.m. Students should not be dropped off prior to 8:00 am. We care deeply for the safety of your student.

  • Breakfast will be served each day at 8:00AM. School begins at 8:30AM.
  • Students will need to be in their classrooms ready to learn by 8:30AM.
  • Lunch is free for all students
  • Students will be dismissed each day at 3:00PM.

At the end of the day, please ensure you are watchful of our busses at the parent pickup area. We have supervision out there to help support this transition and to keep students safe. Please make sure that your student is here each day ready to learn. We are also reminding visitors to sign in at the office when you are on campus. We truly appreciate this measure to keep our students safe.
Thank you again for sharing your children with us!!! We are so excited to have an incredible school year!
