Welcome Dower Elementary! Where YOU belong...YES, YOU!
What an exceptional year we had at Dower! This year we focused on improving academics, looking at students’ social emotional needs, and increasing attendance. This summer, please take time to read with your child and have a wonderful (and safe) summer! We’ll see you at our Meet and Greet in August!
Dower is an elementary school that believes that every student, family, and staff belong. We are a Kids at Hope School! We believe in looking at the Hope factors in a child and how to help them be successful. No exceptions, no excuses.
HOW TO ENROLL
Enrollment is available any time online by going to the District web page at https://www.cloverpark.k12.wa.us. If you already have students in the District, you can register by logging into your Family Access account. If computer access is a barrier, we have a laptop at Dower you are welcome to use for enrollment.
Before/After School
Please note, students should not be dropped off before 7:50 a.m. Supervision of students begins at 7:50 a.m. Students should not be dropped off prior to 7:50 am. We care deeply for the safety of your student.
- Breakfast will be served each day at 7:50 AM. School begins at 8:10AM. Breakfast is free for all students.
- Students will need to be in their classrooms ready to learn by 8:10AM. If a student arrives after 8:10 AM, they will need to come to the front office for a tardy slip.
- Lunch is free for all students (although we still need ALL families to complete a Family Income Survey)
- Students will be dismissed each day at 2:40 PM.
At the end of the day, please ensure you are watchful of our busses at the parent pickup area. We have supervision out there to help support this transition and to keep students safe.
Students that will be consistently picked up through Parent Pickup should get a pickup number (let your child’s teacher know and they will notify the leads of our Parent Pickup system).
Attendance
As we navigate this school year, I want to emphasize the importance of attendance and engagement in your child’s education. Here are some key points to consider:
- Make Attendance a Priority: Regular attendance is crucial for your child's success. Missing just 2 days a month can hinder their learning. If your child will be absent, please contact the front office to notify us of their absence so it is not unexcused. Thank you!
- Stay Connected: Please communicate with your child’s teacher and let them know how to reach you. Regular updates can help us support your child better.
- Monitor Participation: Keep track of your child’s attendance and engagement in classes. If you have concerns, reach out to their teacher.
- Create Routines: Establish consistent routines for waking up, attending classes, and completing schoolwork. A quiet, dedicated space for learning can make a big difference.
- Health Matters: Ensure your child stays healthy by keeping up with vaccinations and discussing any safety concerns they may have about school.
- Family Vacations: Please avoid extended family trips and non-urgent medical appointments during the school year to minimize disruptions to your child’s learning.
- Seek Support: If you need assistance with clothing, obtaining food or housing, or addressing other experiences that make it difficult to attend and participate, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We are here to support your family.

About the Principal
My name is Megan Qualls and I'm incredibly lucky to be the principal of Dower. I’m going into my 10th year at Dower Elementary…a decade of Dower! I am so lucky! I look forward to partnering with our families! We would like to hear from you if you have questions, concerns, or feedback on how we can best serve your children. I have a child within the Clover Park School District and one that recently graduated from our district. I believe it is the BEST district in the WORLD! Please reach out at any time to let me know how we are supporting your child(ren).
WE ARE DOWER DRAGONS! Where you belong....yes, you! There is no place I'd rather be!
